Today
Today, at a glance
Your doses for the day, the next one due, and how you felt last time. Mark each dose Taken or Missed with one tap.
For people living with sickle cell — and the people who care for them
Keep up with your medicines, log pain and symptoms in seconds, get answers from clinical guidelines, and alert the people who would come for you.
Early test version · in your browser, or as an Android and iPhone app with full offline mode · Screens show demo data.
Between clinic visits, you’re the one keeping track — of the doses, the pain, the bad nights, and the people who would come for you.
01 · What it does
Today
Your doses for the day, the next one due, and how you felt last time. Mark each dose Taken or Missed with one tap.
Medicines
Add folic acid, hydroxyurea, penicillin or anything you take, with the times. Reminders come from your phone, so they work without internet.
Log
Score your pain from 0 to 10 and tick symptoms. Logs save offline and sync later, and your history is there to show your care team.
Family
Invite a parent, partner or friend with a code. They get your alerts and what triggered them — not your diary or medicines.
02 · When it’s serious
Hold Get help. Your guardians get an urgent alert that rings — even when their app is closed (their phone needs internet and notifications on). When they reply, you see it.
Automatic
A pain score of 8 or more, an emergency symptom such as chest pain, or 3 missed doses in a row sends an alert to your guardians.
Offline
Your alert is saved on the phone and goes out first as soon as you’re back online. The app doesn’t send SMS — from Get help you can call or text your phone contacts yourself.
Always
“This could be an emergency. Go to the nearest emergency department or call emergency services now.” The call button is right there on the Get help screens.
03 · Ask
Ask about your care in plain words. An AI language model writes the answer using only passages from three clinical guidelines, and shows the source. It can be wrong, so check with your care team.
04 · How it treats you
Guardians see your alerts and what triggered them — not your diary or medicines.
In the phone app, logs and reminders work offline and sync when you reconnect.

05 · Questions
No. SCD Assistant helps you keep track and stay connected between visits. It doesn’t diagnose, and it doesn’t give medicine doses. In an emergency, call emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department.
Android 7.0 or newer, and iPhone with iOS 15 or newer. The iPhone version is in beta through Apple’s TestFlight.
Yes, to get alerts. They sign up as a guardian and join with your invite code (it expires after 24 hours). They see your alerts only. You can also save phone contacts who don’t use the app, and call or text them from Get help.
Yes. The web app runs in an up-to-date browser on any phone, tablet or computer, and you can add it to your home screen or desktop. It needs internet to log and for reminders, so for patchy data use the phone app.
In the phone app, reminders and logging work offline. Alerts and Ask need internet: an alert made offline is saved and sent first as soon as you reconnect. The web app shows what it last loaded and still opens Get help, but logging waits until you’re back online.
The question text is sent to a language-model service to write the answer from the guideline passages. Don’t put your name or other personal details in a question.

SCD Assistant started as a final-year computer science project, and this is an early test version. The people in the screenshots are invented demo accounts.
